    Welcome to the new and improved OAP Clan forums.


    First things first, please ensure that you change your OAP bookmark to the proper URL which is http://www.oap-clan.co.uk. Your new URL should NOT contain /forum in the link.



    The software platform we were using, vBulletin 3, is shortly to be declared 'End of Life' meaning there will be little or no further support for it. In addition to the security implications it also means that there will be dwindling 3rd party support for all the modifications that we use such as the Shout-box and Arcade.

    These forums are now running on the latest version of vBulletin, vBulletin 4, and vBAdvanced CMPS, a content management and portal system. This combination of software gives us a lot more flexibility than we had before and lots of scope for new features in the future.

    We appreciate that change is not always welcomed but these changes were necessary for the reasons already given. In order to ease everyone into the new software we have tried to preserve the look and feel of the OAP identity. This has proved very challenging because vBulletin 4 is new, radically different, and the styling system is far from finished. In fact very few forums running on vBulletin 4 have anything other than the default style on view so please excuse any minor graphical problems encountered. They will be fixed as and when possible.

    The forum style has been checked for compatibility with most browsers but some browsers are better supported than others. In particular the forums will display best in browsers that support rounded borders such as Firefox.

    Like all new platforms it is likely that that there will bugs and problems with functionality. In order to rectify any issues as quickly as possible, please leave a post in this thread with as much detail as possible: http://www.oap-clan.co.uk/forum/show...porting-Thread.

    We hope you enjoy your new home and that it soon becomes a familiar place for you all. It is still very much a work in progress which will no doubt see further functionality added in the days to come.

    Finally, thanks and reputation should go to Bartman for spending a considerable amount of time and effort in getting this up and running for us.
