The [OAP] - Old Age Players clan was formed in November 2001 solely to play Tactical Ops, an Unreal Tournament modification. However as time has moved on and online gaming has improved we now participate in a number of other games including Call of Duty 4, Battlefield 2 and World of Warcraft.
With our sight impaired, our reactions a little slow but our dentures firmly in place we wanted to see if we could still cut the mustard. Veterans of many a battle it was time to move on from Space Invaders and Defender and frag some young ass. So with Zimmer frame in hands, thermal underwear keeping us warm and bi-focal sniper at the ready we rev our armoured wheelchairs to a server near you.
Most members are over a quarter of a century old and some even stretch to half a century. We're old enough to know better but we just can't help ourselves. Most of us are from UK, but we have representatives from the continent to give us that international flavour.
We occasionally recruit according to how many spare beds and blankets we have, normally via the Forum, servers and attendance in Teamspeak. If you wish to apply please follow the instruction in our Application board within the forum.
If you fancy a chat over a nice cup of cha, then grab your tartan blanket, pull up a stool and join us in irc.quakenet.org: #clanoap.
We have a fast dedicated server box which is split into the following game types:
We have our own TeamSpeak servers which are also available for use. Our server boxes enable us to host temporary servers eg. Americas Army, Counterstrike:Source, UT, UT2k3/4 and various mods - please check the Forum for details.
We like to have our own elderly club praccy on Wednesdays for TO, Sundays for CoD, Mondays for BF2 from about 8-11pm GMT. Come and have some fun but respect your elders and each other.
You can contact our clanleader, Smeg77 by email, pm him on our Forum or place a post on our Forum providing as much information as possible (similar to our Members section), and please remember your bus pass!
Now where did I put my werthers?!!!
